Hi everyone - Developer here!

RETROMINE IS COMING TO STEAM!

Enjoy a brand new, fully realized version of Retromine remastered for Steam! The game has received a new art style, a full gameplay rework, and new mechanics to create a complete roguelike deckbuilding experience.

The version of Retromine that is currently public will be renamed “Retromine Classic”. It won’t receive any more tweaks to balancing or bug fixes, but will be kept public and will remain free.

A brand new demo with the new art & gameplay will be released for free next month. Just like the Classic version, it will receive regular updates until the release on Steam, at which point will become paid.

Retromine will be released on Steam in 2026!

This is Awesome!

Really great game. A few crashes here and there when there's a lot of cards being drawn and refreshed. It's like a better version of a solitaire game. Obviously you can add more cards which increase complexity, which will require tougher challenges. Another way would be to have this be the game in a meta game. So add a procedural world of places to mine with their own requirements or hazards for each round, and have winning/losing these places have meta consequences. From there you can pretty much take it in any direction.

loved it, played for about 1-2 hours, despite how simple it is compared to other games of the same genre (no relics, no upgrades apart from resources, no statuses, no enemies) it was still a lot of fun with the mechanics alone.

I beat the game using the wrench strategy, and though I only played for a short time it was immediate to me once I discovered the wrench that the game needs balancing, or a nerf towards that deck.

I think a big problem for the game is that the more "meta" a deck is, the more consistent it is to build it. Deck generates a lot of ore = more reshuffles + more bought cards = more stable + optimized deck = more consistent to build. At least for the wrench strategy this seems to be the case, and for someone who wants to play as flawless as possible, it becomes easier to gravitate towards that deck so replayability gets hurt imo.

This is kinda similar to the Watcher in Slay the Spire, because of how easy it is to go for the stance switching infinite, other strategies begin to pale in comparison, and it became a lot less fun than the other characters, where most strategies are viable, so long as the player picks the right choices.

Overall for a free game this is bloody solid <3

Got it by only buying gold mines, resources, and cards that give free cards. A walkie talkie helps increase resources. Delete other things. The gold mines were giving like 70 resources at the end.

Okay, I did get a good run again, but this time with the "5 resource for each action" thing, and a LOT of 0 energy draw cards .. I only kept 5 ore for energy, and build up one massive scorium .. I was earning so much that there was no points to try get extra ore for shop, I just needed to rush through, so I only drew to upgrade my scorium .. but then the "card - placeholder description" cards started showing up and blocked the middle, so I was softlocked since I couldn't press the button under it.

I did it, the tactic with the action cards is too stable, had no problems this time.

Still extremely fun and addicting. I haven't beat the game yet, but I have a couple points to bring up:

1. I do not understand the math behind the gold mine card. "3 resource per resource card" but then I see "Currently 13" with 10 resource cards and "Currently 40" with 19 resource cards.

2. This just happened, and seems to have softlocked me:

It's like a lovely mix of Slay the Spire and Balatro! A cool feature might be something like relics/jokers from those games, i.e. something that gives you a passive boost. Maybe let the player have a tool belt where they can select a tool to always have in their hand?

Very nice roguelike deckbuilder :)

just came back to this after a while, had never beaten it - on my second run I made it to the center of the earth with the wildest deck I've ever had. By like level 8 I was drawing through my entire deck in a turn at least half the time, on the last level I drew my entire (107 card) deck and met the score req on turn 1. Great game!

This game is great! Really excellent core tension between scoring and getting resources to improve your deck. Keep up the good work!

Exactly what I'm looking for in a roguelike. Works great on mobile too

I would have won, but I had so many cards in my deck that the game crashed when I looked at it.

I had like 10000 ore

Pretty awesome game. By best result was 13/15 so far. Minecarts, Walkie Talkies, tons of Gold Mines and Redraw cards got me pretty far but could not find the winning strategy yet.
